Fall Festival & Some Beach Time

By Nicole on September 26, 2011| Category: Uncategorized | 3 Comments »

My 3 year old is in a little pre-school program a couple of days each week, but last week they had Fall Break… which was a great excuse for us to head down to Florida for a little family down time. We were all packed up when I got a phone call from the Roswell Arts Festival saying that they had a last minute cancelation and wanted to know if I would be interested in taking the empty space. I declined the invitation as I was already checked out and on vacation time. For some reason, I just could not shake the idea that maybe I should be there, is there a reason that there was a last minute cancelation? After talking it over with Chris, I frantically called the lady back and took the booth… and pushed our vacation back just a day.

Here is my booth space…

I have been playing with the idea of selling pillows that are similar to the chairs. I had a couple finished {6 to be exact} and decided to roll them out…

I had a couple with owls, a tree and a few flowers… they were a HUGE hit! Plus, I snagged this super cute antique laundry basket at last months Scott Antique Market. It ended up being the perfect holder for all of the pillows.

Everything does happen for a reason… I sold all of my pillows and 2 chairs!! We packed everything up and headed down to the beach Saturday night. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth and took home a pillow and the chairs!

Now for some family fun in the sun:

My parents came down on Tuesday night and brought my grandmother. We had the BEST time together. We haven’t had a family vacation, well EVER! Not just since before my kids, but even before I got married! It was long over due and we decided that this will be a yearly tradition.

When #1 was 6 months old, we went to Destin and had breakfast at the Donut Hole… it’s this yummy breakfast spot slammed packed with the best donuts and egg sandwiches. If you know me personally, you know that I  L.O.V.E. me some donuts!

We took this picture of #1 licking the sugar off of a donut hole at 6 months:

baby gavin is also 6 months old, so it was only fitting to take him to the donut hole and get his picture licking the sugar off of his first donut

Now for some beach pictures…

WIWW and Meet Molly

By Nicole on August 31, 2011| Category: Uncategorized | 5 Comments »

Happy Wednesday! I haven’t done WIWW in a couple of weeks, so it’s time to do it again. I am linking up to The Pleated Poppy for her weekly linky party. Go check out all of the fabulous fashion inspirations over there. But before you go check her out, here’s what I’m wearing today. Make sure you scroll down and meet Molly, too! You are going to love her!

The shoes are wedges and I got this nail polish sticker thing by Sally Hanson in black and white houndstooth. It is so easy and fun to do! It’s perfect for moms or those who can’t sit still long enough for your nails to dry. It’s fabulous!

Dress: H&M

Tank: White House Black Market

Shoes: DSW

Accessory: Baby Gavin

Nail Polish: Ulta

She is a mix of neutrals and this pretty blue-green color. Loads of texture and pattern. I love her back and sides! I have been drawn to the keys fabric for forever and am so glad that I finally got to use it!

I just love her! Got any ideas for a next chair?  I am always open to ideas and suggestions!

stuffed pepper appetizer

By Nicole on August 30, 2011| Category: Uncategorized | 1 Comments »

we have this cute little garden in our backyard & we love to go out and pick ripe veggies about once a week or so. we haven’t had any rain in  a while, so i was certain that we wouldn’t have much to pick this week. well, this little garden is still thriving! Check out a couple of things that we picked…

i have this super easy and super yummy recipe for stuffed baby bell peppers {which is what the orange and red peppers are in my picture}. i thought i would share the recipe with you.

ingredients:

4 oz. of cream cheese softened

4 oz. of goat cheese {i used the garlic and herb flavored}

1 tbls. of sun dried tomatoes

salt & pepper to taste

mixture of orange and red baby bell peppers

pre-heat oven to 350. cut the tops off your peppers and clean out the seeds. mix the cream cheese and goat cheese together, then mix in your sun dried tomatoes and salt & pepper to taste. then you just stuff that goodness into your peppers.

put them on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, just to get them good and warm. you will have these amazing appetizers! perfect of a cookout or making them for your sunday night dinner with a salad like we did!

hope you enjoy them!
